Accommodation
Besides Klaas
Voogds (see: The Klaas Voogds
Experience) there are other areas within an easy driving distance
where visitors can be accommodated. We have personally visited each accommodation
listed below and we also gathered some nice feedback from visitors.
Bonnievale
Merwenstein
Guest Farm
Located in a tranquil area, 7 km South of Bonnievale.
Heidi and Hugo know how to entertain their guests with cozy traditional
meals in their own family kitchen. Heidi is involved in the local Xhosa
and coloured communities and guests have the unique opportunity to share
her daily experiences with the people she works with.

McGregor
Green Gables
A lovely decorated B&B with a monumental pool, a restaurant and a
pub in which one thinks it could be somewhere in England. Tiger is the
great cook (very entertaining with his dwarf poodle Vincent) but the real
cooking is done by a wonderful local Lady. Jill keeps the customers’
bellies happy. And so do Jimmy and his wife Debbie.

Montagu Vines
Lovely view on the surrounding vineyards and beyond the grapes an astonishing
panorama.
Gardens with old milkwood and oak trees. Charles and Sharyn really love
their guests.

Simonskloof
A real hide away in the Langeberg Mountains, Northwest of Montagu. Stunning
views, challenging hiking trails and an excellent host. Although Swiss
by nature; Jurgen knows more about the surrounding flora and fauna than
most of the locals. A real retreat for the unspoilt nature-lover.

Robertson
Ballinderry
Guest House
Belgian hospitality and lovely garden. Private dinners in real African atmosphere.

Goedereede
Karl and Elsa Pretorius must be excellent hosts for their guests keep
on talking about them. Although real South Africans both are very internationally
orientated and once guests get to taste their fig conifiture they are
addicted. Nicely located on a working fruit and veggie farm some 8 km
from the village centre.
Sorry, no website but just a phone call away: +27 (0)23-626 4173
GuBas De Hoek
Where people meet, eat and sleep. Experience a bit of Bavaria in the Heart of route 62. Gunther is an excellent cook and Balbina's hospitality is legendary. They are very much missed in Bavaria. Nowadays Bavarians come to Robertson to experience Bavaria. Don't be surprised to see 'Lederhosen'. 4**** rated.

Plumbago Cottages
Before we moved into Soekershof we stayed in this budget friendly B&B
near the village center and still are friends with the family Du Plessis.

Weltevrede
Guestfarm
Situated on the Weltevrede Estate at the municipal bounderies; 25 minutes
drive Northwest of the village. Weltevrede is known for the BonCap organic
wines. A healthy place to stay and Michelle will be pleased to help you
with the wedding arrangements (just in case of) for the estate also incorporates
an unique wedding chapel.

Swellendam
Africanshades
It’s a modern decorated B&B, a restaurant with tea garden (coffee
also available) and an art shop in one. Warm welcome by Hetty.

Augusta de
Mist
A real country house with country style decorated deluxe rooms. The garden
is a Maze of its own and Rob’s workshop is as a museum. Both, Rob
and his wife Madelein, experienced a Full Moon Walk at Soekershof and
they can tell their guests all about it. Also about the ‘naughty’
things they undertook during their ‘experience of a lifetime’.

Jan Harmsgat
Real African (with a sniffy European) hospitality in historical surroundings 20 km West of Swellendam on the road towards Robertson. Judy and Brin Rebstein really threat their guests in a very individually personalised manor. They will love to show their guests the way to Soekershof.

Mardouw Country House
The good neighbour of Jan Harmsgat. A place with a history. Estate with more than 1000 hectares of unspoilt nature next to olive- and vineyards. Absolutely 5*****. For the happy few.

Swellendam Lodge
Coming from Robertson 'just around the corner' in historical Voortrekkerstreet. Haiko & Betty understand the art of letting their guests feel not at home. Cosy, well equipped stylish cottages and all together 'lekker' breakfast in the kitchen.
